Brief random introduction;;
W00t. Heya guys. I'm Kiwi - the fruit, not the bird- and I've been RPing Naruto for a couple of months now. Before Naruto it was Harry Potter...before Harry Potter it was cats...yeah, I evolved. In total, I've been RPing for about four years. So yeah. ^^
My past experiences as Naruto chars include;
Sakura- two sites [like her, but RPing her is...bleh]
Tayuya - only once [love her, but she bored me after a bit]
Anko - three times [Great fun!]
Tenten - seven times [she's my fave]
And I'm pretty sure I skipped someone, but oh well.
That's it. Oh, and English isn't my first language, so pardon any teensy mistakes I might make.

Name: TentenAlias:
Rank: Chuunin/ANBU
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Village: Konohagakure no SatoClan:
Appearance:
Tenten grew from thin child to pretty young woman, although she never became any taller than when she was sixteen; standing at 5"5, she considers herself to be of a respectable height- for a girl, anyway. Her body mass is mostly made up of muscle due to the long hours she spent training and practicing her signature attacks , which require a lot of jumping and mid-air acrobatics: she's lean and swift, speed being a trait common to all Team Gai members, although she doesn't have as much stamina as she would like and tires after a day's running if not allowed to rest from time to time.
Her practical persona shows through the way she dresses, and her habit of tying her waist-length hair up into two buns at the sides of her head, only letting it down on her days off, when she's at home by herself; also, she is the only one of the Konoha kunoichi to strap her chest down with tape, 'to keep it out of the way'. Tenten doesn't go to any lengths to enhance her feminility; it's as if she's forgotten that before being a kunoichi, she's a woman.
ANBU uniform
Tenten's never really been the showy type, consequently her outfit is as unrevealing as ever. The blue pants she wears are longer than those she had as a genin and chuunin: long enough to be tucked into her shoes, that have reverted to the typical heel-less, open-toed blue shinobi sandals almost everybody wears. Covering her torso is the white sleeveless ANBU vest, under which she wears a black top with fishnet sleeves- thus, the tattoo on her arm is visible. Her arms are protected by blue arm warmers and arm guards. Around her neck is a dark blue scarf.
Her mask is a dragon, striped with blue.
Everyday outfit
Her shirt is similar to the long-sleeved white one, but it's pink, longer (reaches way past her hips- it could actually be worn as a dress), has two side slits and is embroidered with a red dragon.
Nothing much else has changed. Her pants are green, the same version as her genin days, while on her feet she wears a pair of very simple black flats. When she hasn't got her black gloves on, Tenten bandages her hands and wrists.
Personality:
Tenten is a fairly outgoing person, very easy to get on with and quick to laughter. She's a girl with a very neutral personality, usually describes as "normal": and normal she is. She's not a girly-girl, and pays no heed to fashion, nor puts too much care into her appearance; this, coupled with the fact that she has no close female friends, has led people to think she is very much a tomboy. That's not the case. She's just a very practical girl with no time to waste on activities such as shopping or spending hours in front of a mirror.
Sincere and straightforward, Tenten has a knack for stating the obvious; she is always honest and open, and speaks her true opinion with sincerity, in such a blunt manner that people are sometimes hurt by her sharp words.
She doesn't seem to worry too much about anything: despite what some people think, she does have her own problems to deal with, but she never kicks up a fuss about them and keeps them to herself, believing them to be her own business. Tenten isn't the kind of girl to stand looking forlorn and lost and wait for somebody to solve her problems for her: she gets her act together and works hard to get things done. She hates relying on poeple - makes her feel as though she is unable to stand on her own two feet- and is as headstrong and stubborn.
In Team Gai, she was the harmonizing element between the self-centered Neji and the opposing Lee. Unlike the kunoichi of most other teams, she hasn't specialized in the medic arts and knows only the most basic healing jutsu.

Main fighting style:
Soushouryuu
Rising Twin Dragons
Soushouryuu is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Leaf ninja Tenten. Tenten uses this summoning technique to take advantage of her deadly accurate ability to throw edged weapons. Tenten generally only uses this technique as her trump card. To begin, she will will remove her two scrolls and set them on the ground, after forming the necessary hand seals, the two scroll rise into the air and begin to swirl around a middle vortex. Tenten then uses this space to launch herself into the air between the spinning scrolls. From these scrolls she can then summon her weapons which she then begins to throw at her opponent. If the first barrage fails, she can use wires that run from each weapon to her fingertips to pull them back into the air to strike at her opponent again. Unfortunately this attack is very vulnerable to wind based attacks.
Konoha Senpuu
Leaf Whirlwind
Konoha Senpuu is a Taijutsu technique. Using their speed and agility, the user charges at their target and spins their body to do a flying round house kick on those opponents within their range of attack.
Konoha Reppuu
Leaf Violent Wind
Konoha Reppuu is a Taijutsu technique. Using their speed and agility, the user moves low to the ground and aim a spinning kick to sweep their opponent off their feet.
Shihouhappou Shuriken
All Directions Shuriken
After using Tajuu Kage Bunshin to create an enormous amount of clones, the clones will surround their target and then launch their shuriken at them.
Soushuuha
Manipulate Advancing Blades
This technique allows the user to hover multiple kunai in the air while they approach a target. The technique allows a ninja to unleash a torrent of kunai much more quickly than if each was thrown individually.
Sougu • Tensasai
Tool Manipulation • Heavenly Chain Disaster
Sougu • Tensasai is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Leaf ninja Tenten. Tenten uses this summoning technique to take advantage of her deadly accurate ability to throw edged weapons. After hurling her large scroll over her opponent, she will summon the weapons inside to rain down on them. Because of the large number of weapons, avoiding the assault is difficult.
Kuchiyose • Tobidougu
Projectile Weapons
Kuchiyose • Tobidougu is a Ninjutsu summoning technique utilized by the Leaf ninja TenTen. TenTen specializes in throwing projectile weapons. To enable her to carry more weapons, she will store them in a summoning scroll. When needed she can unwrap the scroll and summon whatever weapon she needs.
Doku Kiri
Poison Mist
Doku Kiri is a Ninjutsu technique. This technique allows the user to expel poision gas from their body. This can serve as cover to escape and as an offensive technique against their opponent.
Kanashibari no Jutsu
Temporary Body Paralysis Technique
Kanashibari no Jutsu is an advanced Ninjutsu technique used to temporarily bind an individual or animal. With the person frozen in place, the ninja can either take the opportunity to attack or to retreat.
Fighting strength:
From the Databooks:
Her greatest strengths, statistically-wise, are taijutsu and speed. Relative to others, by post-chuunin exam Tenten (like the rest of her team) has much stronger taijutsu than the rest of the Konoha genin; Tenten specifically is the strongest taijutsu user and the fastest of the Konoha kunoichi genin. Statistically speaking, she is just as strong as Sakura (minus monstrous strength) and stronger than the rest of Konoha's kunochi's, barring Sakura.
Fighting weakness:
Attacks like the Twin Rising Dragons are incapacitated by powerful wind jutsu, making her weapons veer off course, and it is complicated to use them in the dark or in places such as the forest, where manouvering the scrolls becomes exceedingly difficult.
Friends/family:
Maito Gai:
Tenten has no qualms to admit her sensei is the weirdest Jounin in the whole of Konoha, and not just because of his eyebrows and awful haircut. Gai is just...weird. Tenten is extremely fond of him, but she can never see things the way he does. While Gai and Rock Lee engaged in shouting matches and jumped about hugging each other, raving about the power of youth, Tenten stood gloomily on the sidelines with a very irritated Neji.
Rock Lee:
Just as weird as their sensei. In fact, Lee could very well be a carbon copy of Maito Gai. They have the same eyebrows, the same haircut, the same green spandex suit...it's enough to make Tenten (or anyone for that matter) bash her head against a tree. Surprisingly though, Lee isn't as simple as he looks: when she feels the need to vent, she looks for him- although in the end he's so eager to help that he ends up annoying her. He's her best friend, and she sometimes wonders why.
Hyuuga Neji:
Enter the Hyuuga prodigy, Lee's polar opposite. For quite a few years Tenten and Neji were sparring partners: she practiced her weapon-throwing techniques, at the same time helping him develop his Kaiten. She never did share his views on Fate, although the one thing both agreed on was that Lee would never be able to defeat him. Tenten admires the Hyuuga above all others and makes him her first priority- although since she entered ANBU, she doesn't have the time to tail him like she used to.
Haruno Sakura
In her scraps of spare time, Tenten sometimes bumps into Sakura and they spend some time chatting. She's a good friend and a kind girl, and Tenten also views her as a rival of sorts: after all, the pinkette was the apprentice of the woman Tenten idolized, Tsunade. Sakura specializes in medical arts, while Tenten does not, but she is still keen to surpass her friend in any other way possible.
Hyuuga Hinata
The Hyuuga heiress is very shy and keep to herself mostly, but the two have met on various occasions. Tenten is somewhat perplexed by Hinata's shy nature, but is accustomed to dealing with uncommunicative people- indirect reference to Hinata's own cousin- and doesn't allow any awkward silences when the two of them are together.
Yamanaka Ino
Ino is one girl who has the ability to confuse Tenten. She's not just friendly, like Sakura, but downright bossy. It's all the brunette can do to shrink and passively submit to listening to the blonde's speeches about boys and hair and shopping, occasionally making outraged outbursts if Ino takes things too far- there's only so much Tenten can take. In any case, Ino makes her laugh more than anyone else.
Aburame Shino
The two of them have been on a couple of missions together, during which Shino sparked Tenten's interest. He was as silent as his teammate Hinata throughout, except when he made sensible and smart observations that she is pretty certain saved their lives at least three times. Shino's kinship with insects is unnerving, but his knowledge of nature is impressive. Of the so-called Rookie Nine guys, Shino is the one Tenten considers most reliable.
Other companions:
Uzumaki Naruto
At first Tenten was convinced that Naruto was a loud-mouth baka who didn't know what he was doing- nobody in their right minds would challenge Neji and hope to defeat him, especially not the weakest of the rookies. However he amazed her, not only defeating Neji but actually knocking some sense into him, something she'd never been able to do. It was crazy, but she almost expected him to become Hokage, and he eventually did.
Inuzuka Kiba:
Loud and very similar to Uzumaki Naruto, Tenten thinks it's a pity they never got to know each other better, because Kiba, the life of his team, is the kind of person it's easy to have fun with.
Nara Shikamaru:
All Tenten knows about Shikamaru is what Ino tells her: he's very clever, likes to laze about doing nothing or playing Shoji. She raises an eyebrow but doesn't comment.
Akimichi Chouji:
Once again Ino is the only reason why Tenten knows a couple of fundamental things about Chouji: he likes to eat, dislikes training and severely injures whoever calls him fat. This time Tenten raises both eyebrows.
Character history:
A newborn baby girl wrapped in swaddling clothes was found one cold winter night outside the Hokage Tower in Konohagakure. The child was no more than a couple of hours old and had no distinguishing feature connecting her to any of the main clans of the village: plain brown eyes, not much hair, she was taken in and handed over to the care of the medic kunoichi of the Hospital while the search for her mother began. The girl was given the affectionate nickname Tenten and for two months the Hospital was her home.
Eventually the search for her parents was called off: many remained hopeful that she would, as she grew older, show signs of a kekkei genkai that would allow her to be accepted into the ranks of a clan like the Nara or the Yamanaka, but that never happened.
After two months at the Hospital, the Hokage decided that little Tenten couldn't stay there any longer, and she was moved, much to the nurses' dismay, to Konoha's orphanage, where children who'd lost their families lived.
Tenten remained there until the age of ten, when she asked to be given a one-room apartment of her own- it was a common procedure. Like her peers, she was allowed her own tiny home, and checked up on daily.
When she was twelve, she graduated from the Academy and was assigned two teammates.
Tenten was initially worried about her role in Team Gai: it was fairly obvious right from the start that they were an oddly-matched group. She knew both Lee and Neji from the Academy, of course. Neji was the famous genius, silent and good-looking, whom all the girls were crazy for; Lee was the strange, weird-looking kid with bushy eyebrows and no talent for genjutsu. They were both well-known, albeit for completely different reasons. Maito Gai, Tenten discovered the first time she met him, was a hyperactive oddball. How was she supposed to fit in with him, the enthusiastic but talentless Lee and the detached Hyuuga prodigy?
At first they didn't function very well at all. Neji worked alone, Lee lagged behind, Tenten dithered helplessly between the two. She herself had no kekkei genkai to speak of, nor a field of expertise, only an affinity for weapons. As Team Gai sorted itself out, and Lee chose to become a great taijutsu user, Tenten decided to specialize in thrown weaponry.
While Lee trained with Gai, Tenten helped Neji develop his Kaiten. All of them were able to improve, although the high number of defeats Tenten suffered at Neji's hand was slightly disheartening for the young kunoichi. A strong admiration for the Hyuuga was born- she considered him the strongest genin of Konoha. She never did share his views on 'fate', but as a sensible girl she knew there was no way Rock Lee would ever defeat him, and she often reminded Lee of this, praising Neji's astounding ability.
When the Chunnin exams came up, Team Gai was confident of success. Tenten laughed at the news that three rookie groups would participate in the exams, suggesting that competitive jounins were the reason. They met the first of these groups, Team 7 led by Kakashi, in front of a room on the second floor of the Academy. Uchiha Sasuke was of a lot of interest for both Neji and Lee, while Tenten was quite pleased to note he was cute. Not only that, he refused to answer Neji's questions, and indeed displayed a similar attitude to that of the Hyuuga, making Tenten's cheeks redden as she decided that not only he was cute, he was also cool.
Neji appeared to be keen to leave, but Lee was more reluctant. Tenten tailed the Hyuuga, but didn't fail to call out to Lee, asking him what he was waiting for. She shrugged when he told her he had something to do, and merely gave Neji a puzzled look.
The three were next seen together while the Rookie Nine congregated, sitting at one of the long tables in room 301 and waiting for the first exam to begin. When it did, and they realized the only way to pull through was to cheat, they got to work. Neji, gifted with the Byakugan, needed no help, so Tenten took it onto herself to help Lee. With four or five carefully placed mirrors, she made sure both she and Lee could copy off the other candidates. When the time came for the last question, they all stayed in their seats and passed the first stage of the exams.
In the Forest of Death, Team Gai had no trouble. During the first twenty-four hours they managed to find food and water, and kept a low profile until the sun set; when it was dark, like planned, they sprung into action and separated to find the scroll they needed.
During this time Lee went to the aid of Sakura, who was defending her unconscious team members against three Sound nins: he was unable to defeat them and passed out. Before things could get any worse, Yamanaka Ino's team showed up, but they too had difficulty matching the sound nins' strength. Eventually, worried by their teammate's disappearance, Neji and Tenten set out to look for him, only to find him lying injured on the ground. After the sound nins fled, Tenten jumped to his side and announced that she would take care of him. She placed her hands on his shoulders and shook him mercilessly, yelling for him to wake up, and when he did, scolded him for acting like an impulsive idiot.
Despite this minor setback, Team Gai made it to the Tower and was one of the seven teams to survive the Forest of Death. However, Tenten never made it past the preliminary rounds of the exams, for she was pitted against Sabaku no Temari, a wind jutsu user whose attacks efficiently neutralized all of Tenten's, swiftly defeating her.
Over the next month Tenten would help Neji prepare for his match with Naruto. She then went to the exam stadium to watch Neji in his fight. Being familiar with Neji's fighting style and abilities, she was able to easily predict how Neji would react in the fight. She complimented Naruto's strength but felt there was no way Neji could lose to Naruto. She was surprised when he eventually did get defeated, and she acknowledged Naruto's strength. She and her team continued to train and she assisted Neji in pushing his abilities even further by focusing on the vision capacity of his Byakugan.
As the years passed she and her team eventually passed the Chuunin Exam. When a request came in from Suna to help rescue their Kazekage from Akatsuki, Gai and his team were sent to help. The team raced to Hidden Sand and was stopped in a delay maneuver. In the River Country they faced off against Hoshigaki Kisame. Kisame managed to avoid most of their attacks, get the drop on the team and imprison TenTen, Neji and Lee in water prisons. Neji broke them free and Gai managed to eventually defeat their opponent.
The team then proceeded on to Akatsuki's base. When they removed the seal guarding the cave, they were faced with earthen doppelgangers. The copies used their same exact weapons and abilities. The team managed to eventually defeat the guardians and assist Naruto and Kakashi, who were chasing Akatsuki member Deidara. Tenten's team stopped Deidara escape. Neji soon saw that Deidara planned to blow himself up. Hatake Kakashi had enough time though to send Deidara to another location using his Mangekyou Sharingan. With Deidara stopped, elder Sand kunoichi Chiyo was able to revive Gaara. They returned to Sand, wished their comrades goodbye and returned to Konoha.
Three years later, eager to prove herself and help to bring the series of events linked to Orochimaru to an end, Tenten applied for ANBU and was accepted along with ten or so fellow chuunin. She was prepared for the hard work, but not for the emotional toll. Being a black op wasn't just about completing the mission, but slaughtering each and every opponent you came across. Tenten faced a crossroads: either stamp on her ambition and go back to being a simple chuunin, or continue on the path she'd chosen and deal with the consequences- a.k.a stop beating herself up after every kill she made. She chose the latter.
The afore-mentioned consequences, however, are proving to be a bit too much for her. Admitting that she's bitten off more than she can chew isn't in Tenten's nature, however. The ANBU dragon isn't the only mask she's taken to hiding behind.
Role play Sample:
The mission was going all wrong.
It was the first time Tenten honestly believed she wouldn't live to see the light of day again, and the blind panic constricted her chest and made it difficult for her to breathe- which was bad, because she was running for her life and needed all the oxygen she could get.
She didn't know who's fault it was that they'd stumbled on a whole patrol of Rain nins. Hadn't their scout assured them the road was safe? There was no way he could have missed the group of Ame shinobi, there were at least twenty-five of them. The ANBU were outnumbered three to one, and they hadn't been foolish enough to stay and fight: it would have been like digging their grave with their own hands.
The brunette, her identity concealed by a blue-striped dragon mask, jumped from a tall oak to the shaky branch of a beech. It cracked under her weight, the loud splintering of wood giving her the split-second warning she needed to abandon the tree's limb for the safety of a sturdier one. She was losing it. A mistake like that might have cost her her life; even Academy students knew how to pick strong branches.
There came a muffled shout from somewhere to her left. Tenten refused to recognize the voice as Akito-kun's, whose mask was a cheerful falcon with red markings round the eye holes. She couldn't see him anymore. Where was he?
He had a wife and two little children.
The formation was veering right. The dragon-mask moved close to her temporary partner in the squad, a man with an intimidating mask in the shape of a bear, and together they followed the shadowy figures in front of them. They flitted in and out of sight like ghosts.
"Scared?"
Tenten couldn't believe he had the nerve to ask her, especially now, when two of their own had already been taken down.
"Yes," she replied, her voice betraying none of her fear.
The bear-mask didn't add anything. They went on, and Tenten feared that each breath and leap and step would be her last as merciless kunai embedded themselves in her back and shuriken glinted in the dark as they flew toward her and her companion. She proceeded, and dared to hope for safety.
It took them half an hour to regroup and turn on the surprised Rain nins. They attacked by stealth, taking them out one by one- Tenten slit the throat of one and she thought of Akito. Her kunai sank deep into the forehead of another man and this time she wondered if her victim had a family waiting for him in Amegakure.
She wanted to throw up.
She almost did, when their squad leader enquired after the three missing ANBU and she had to admit there and then that carefree Akito wasn't going to see his family again.
"Falcon-Four. Presumed dead."
Maybe if she removed her mask, it would all go away. She would wake up and discover it had been a nightmare, and she would get dressed and leave her silent apartment and run down to the training field where Gai and Lee and Neji would be.
But ANBU weren't allowed to remove their masks during missions.
The kunoichi stared at the ground and unclenched her hands. They were disgustingly sticky with blood. It should have been an easy mission, no casualties. They hadn't been prepared for a fight, though the rules stated that the special squad had to be prepared at all times. And they had been. But they hadn't.
It was confusing.
Like a little girl, all she wanted was to go home.
