Name: Umeko, Haru
Alias: none
Rank: Chuunin
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Village: Konohagakure[born]; Sunagakure[prior] & Otogakure[after]
Clan: None originally, but part of the Umeko Clan [explained in history]
Appearance: His hair is a tone of black that seems to shine almost blue when the sun hits it. From the front and sides it could almost appear as though it is medium length and slicked back into a heap of hair on the back of his head. This however is not really the case, as from under the bundle of thick strands on the back of his head extends a long line of hair that is wrapped in the same bandages as parts of his body. The wrapping continues down the line of hair to about mid back, where it then flows freely. Long bangs hang quite messily in front of his eyes, and really in total his hair looks unkempt save for the wrapped ponytail. His eyes are a dark brown, nearly black, set into a semi-tanned skin completion with his gleaming white smile; one could almost mistake this happy male as a living teddy bear of sorts.
Because he doesn’t seem to dwell anyplace that is particularly cold, he tends to wear thin, loosely fitting clothing that allows his skin to breathe. His top is a standard mesh style shirt, though his sleeves run to about mid forearm; the ¾ sleeves then meet up with fabric wrist wrappings, which actually hide tiny slivers of paper. Over the mesh, he wears a loosely tied tunic top that does little more than provide more places to hide his precious paper. It gives a bit more covering, but is too thin to be considered anything but standard clothing. His pants are made of the same thin material, and seem to flop out much bigger than his legs. The bottom of the pants are wrapped, his left side up just up the ankle and his right leg nearly completely wrapped minus a tiny area for his knee to bend freely. This is because he uses the wrapping in desperate situations as the consistency it has with paper is almost the same and given enough chakra and force, he can use it if he runs out of ammo. Because he is right handed, he keeps this hidden weapon closest to his draw hand. He has a small belt that provides a place for pouches and bags to hang from; not to mention his excess of wire that he sometimes has to hook to the belt due to over packing. All of his clothing is black; he has even gone as far as to dye all of his pouches this color so as to be completely covered by night. There is no hint of another color except for a red scarf that he has wrapped around his neck; this only splash of color was a gift from his love, and he wears it proudly.
Under his clothing he has the usual wrapping, his stomach area, upper legs, and even his wrists. Other then this the only things one would find under his clothing would be hordes of paper and his naked body [and nobody wants to see those, right?]
Special body armor: none
Personality: Not one to dwell on the harsh side of things, Haru is one of those seemingly overly happy kinds of people. He doesn’t seem to have a serious side for the most part, and will find a way to joke about even the most serious of situations. He almost constantly smiles and as far as appearances go, seems not to have a care in the world.
Under his constant happy facade, however, lies a deeply trouble young man that has a past that would make most go insane. He’s not one to really talk or dwell on what happened, but around those close he can let it boil to the surface, even if it is just for a few moments its enough to show that sometimes his smiles are all just a mask to hide the scars on the inside.
He has a bit of a problem letting things go, and likes to find the one thing that irritates his friends, then pick at the scab until they fold. Because of his happy demeanor, though, it usually results in them laughing at themselves, then him with a black eye. Occasionally he gets bruise from a harsh punch to the arm, but he’s one of those people that everyone seems to love.
He’s kept this demeanor even after being inducted into the shady group he has been in recently. However, a new serious side of him has emerged and he finds himself getting angry and jealous of those anywhere near Leiko. As it is vital for her to believe he is dead, he cannot act on his feelings, and thus they have become unstable. He can turn from happy-go-lucky Haru to a murderous ranting lunatic in a blink of an eye. Yet, he doesn’t seem to notice that he changes when he does, and laughs it off when people try to tell him about it.
Jutsu Techniques: Genjutsu:
Ninjutsu: Issen Pe-pa-kure-n no Jutsu {One Thousand Paper Crane Technique} Issen Nenshou Pe-pa-kure-n no Jutsu {One Thousand Burning Paper Crane Technique} Pe-pa-Kattingu no Jutsu {Paper Cutting Tecnique} Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Ohitsuji/Hitsuji {Summoning Technique: Ram/Sheep} Fenikkusu Totsugeki no Jutsu {Phoenix Assault Technique} Fenikkusu Yougeki no Jutsu {Phoenix Ambush Technique}
Taijutsu:
Doujutsu:
Hijutsu:
Kinjutsu:
Weapons: Pe-pa Whippu [Paper whip]: a long strand of chained together bit of scrap paper. It seems useless and a laughable attempt at a weapon at first, but once this weapon senses Haru’s chakra it tenses and become hard. The edges of the paper bits turn into mini razors making this weapon not only painful as a hitter, but also a slicing one. Oddly enough, even though it is made of flexible paper[he can shove this whip just about anywhere] it doesn’t seem to fall apart. Water doesn’t seem to dissolve it, and only Haru can remove and replace damaged links.
Kunai: Carries the standard for these, though he prefers his lighter papers
Shuriken: Carries more of these then any other standard ninja gear; as he uses them in unison with his techniques.
Senbon: Carries more of these then kunai, but less then shuriken. Never hurts to be prepared.
Exploding tags: Haru has way too many of these for someone to be comfortable with having on one person. Because they are made of paper, he can use them as any other paper; with the added effect of a bang!
Scrolls: Has a few of these tucked away, but her prefers smaller bits of paper, and really only carries enough in case he must cut them into smaller bits for his use.
Main fighting style: Ninjutsu; fire—he’s more of a hit and run kid of guy, preferring to hit hard and fast then retreating to the background before any real damage can be done.
Fighting strength: The fact that he can fight both up close and from a distance works to his advantage. Not to mention that he can have a rather hefty supply of weapons in the form of tiny sheets of paper. Much lighter then the metallic weapons, Haru can let out an assault much easier and longer then most ninja.
Fighting weakness: His lack of seriousness can definitely be a problem. He normally does not see the serious side in battles until someone is hurt and then it is usually too late for him to pull himself completely together. Water and misty situations are a problem for him, as if his paper is wet it is not only hard to use, but his fire techniques simply will not catch.
Team members: Sumiyaka, Leiko: The fiery Sumiyaka girl that is the head of her clan. Her desired and deserved position at the head of the clan was taken from her and given to her brother. She’s what most people would consider a bitch, but Haru can see through all that, and is honestly in love with her. Though his kindness extends to others, the friction he had with her is obvious to anyone that watches from the outside.
Akiyama, Hiiro: The quiet chakra control specialist. Though he always seems to wear a serious face, he too has been infected by Haru’s happy bug. He’s polite, and rather well mannered; even in the most pressing of times.
Shuji-sensei: Haru, Hiiro, and Leiko’s sensei. He’s strict but extremely nice, and because he too is a Sumiyaka helps Leiko with her clan skills.
Friends/family: Umeko, Hiroshi : Haru’s father Umeko, Hiroko: Haru’s mother Umeko, Soujirou: Haru’s cousin. He helped Haru with most of his Umeko clan techniques. Usagiku, Yaki: Leiko’s nearly lifelong friend, and emotional basket case. He doesn’t mind Yaki, and likes making her feel better, as she’s almost always crying over something. He developed a semi-small friendship with her through them both knowing Leiko, though they don’t know each other well enough to call each other true friends. Sumiyaka, Seiichi: Leiko’s younger brother; deceased [Haru supposedly died in the same incident; more in history]
Other companions: none
Character history:
Haru’s life started as any happy child; so he likes to think. His memory of his parents is a little fuzzy from him being so young. He was born to a rather high standing family from the leaf village, an ANBU father and a model wife for a mother. Its the way he seems to remember things, even though he was young and his view of things could have been one sided as a child, he chooses not the question his memories.
All seemed well until he was about four when he was told his father was never going to come back. He didn’t quite understand then, and to add to is confusion a few months later his mother became ill with a fatal disease, which she did not even try to fight. One year he lost his father, and the next his mother. In a span of two years everything had been ripped from under him, and he was thrown to the streets as rat food.
He did well on his own for a few years. It was amazing that he even managed to stay alive like he did. It seemed almost like a miracle when he was offered the chance to live with someone. It wasn’t as innocent as it seemed, and Haru soon found himself tied up and lugged off far from his home. He was used for various tasks, and generally abused. He wasn’t alone; many other young males were in the same boat with him. He was withdrawn at first, but soon his happy personality began to shine. Even though he got it as bad as they did, Haru would always smile an try to cheer everyone up. Maybe that is how he got through those times.
He couldn’t really remember how long ago it was since he’d been taken. Sure, he had kept up with his birthdays, and he was nine now; but that didn’t help him keep track of time. It seemed time was something that taunted him with what he had lost, and had become. The band had entered into Sunagakure territory now, and this is where his life changed for the better. It was here that the men were found, and jailed. All the children they had been slave driving were sent to an orphanage. Haru hadn’t been there but a few days before his smile and happy attitude caught the attention of a couple that was unable to bear children of their own. He was taken in, and given their name; thereafter promptly starting his ninja training. To his surprise he had been adopted by a small but renowned clan from Sunagakure. Though he was not truly of their blood, he was accepted and never again was it even an issue of where he had come from. It was as if he had always been there with them. He began at the academy not long after he turned ten, and made friends with two rather serious youngsters, Leiko and Hiiro. He was always the one to cut up, and made the two stuck-ups smile and see the brighter, and softer side to things.
Upon graduating he was thrilled to be teamed up with the two, and continued his antics of making them have a little fun. Though it was hard to get through to them, he succeeded, and gave them the much needed mental and psychical breaks.
The chuunin exam went pretty bad the first time. Haru’s act now, make fun of and think about it later attitude caused him to get seriously injured on the second round. Though he urged his team to move on, the other two declined and they dropped out. Even after this, Haru never changed his way, and still jumped into things without thinking one speck. Still, they passed their next exam together, and all seemed okay….until a few months ago.
The Sumiyaka complex came under attack, and in the fierce battle that raged Haru was nearly killed. Somehow he’d been taken from the hospital in Sunagakure and everyone was told he had died. He is alive, however, and serving a less then desirable master now. Though his death still pains his Suna friends, he keeps himself hidden away. Never to come out until the time is right. Still, he watches Leiko, the girl who holds his heart.[/size][/color]

Role play Sample:
He felt like a woman. No, honestly, he did! The pile of discarded clothing on his floor was only growing larger by the second as he modeled each piece before tossing it aside. He could feel his body shaking slightly, and it was still hours off. It had taken all the courage he could muster to ask Leiko to accompany him and he hadn’t been able to hid his relief or excitement when she agreed. He had half expected her to reject simply because it was “silly”. But she’d said yes! Now he stood here looking more like a peacock then a ninja desperately trying to decide what he should wear, or not wear. Little snippets of conversations ran through his mind. He was analyzing everything too much! He grumbled and flopped himself down onto the pile. Why was he worried so much? He’d wear what he always wore and act like he always acted. Leiko wouldn’t care, after all that is who she agreed to go with, right?
Haru’s eyes lifted and stared at his ceiling for a moment, his heart fluttering softly in his chest. He had already decided it would be tonight. He would show her that she meant more to him then just a teammate. She meant more to him then just a friend. He was nervous. With Leiko you could never tell how she’d react, or really how she felt. If everything went according to plan, he’d have plenty of time to gather his courage to take that first step. A wide smile slipped across his face.
“Tonight, I will win against you Leiko-chan. “
He said it with more confidence then he really had. He hadn’t thought it was possible to be so nervous around Leiko. They had been together in a team for so long it had become second nature to him to pick at her, support her, ever fight with her. But when it came down to asking her out on a date, just…well that was different entirely! A soft pink color filled his cheeks as he thought of her. Sure he would have been fine to leave things as they were, but he just had to try to take this chance. Besides, the worst that could happen was a pummeling from her, and he’d been through that many times already.
With a grunt he lifted himself to his feet and glanced out the window. The sun was setting, casting a fiery glow over Suna’s features. Already vendors were displaying their wares and young children were tugging at their parents for permission to stay up late. Most of Suna would be attending the festival tonight, it had been so hyped that it had been the talk of the village for months. Maybe that’s why he had asked her to come to this? Was he ready for everyone to know that he wanted to choose her for his love? Yes. Yes he was. He had longed to tell her about how he felt for so long that this was the moment. This was the time that he needed to take the front line of the battle and take any blows necessary. He was sure that Hiiro knew, it wasn’t as if Haru kept it hidden from him. Ki-chan probably knew, she was always hinting at such things with a sly grin. He had to give it to her, she was sly when it came to that. Still, he didn’t’ care if they knew or not. It was Leiko that mattered. And tonight, he would make sure she knew.
Night seemed to fall all too soon and he found himself pushing through the crowd in a hurry. He stupidly had contradicted himself and began to look for something more fancy to wear again losing track of time. Now he was going to be late! This was not the right way to start tonight! Not to mention he had to stop off and ask Hiiro and Shuji-sensei to cover his shift so he could be out with Leiko tonight. They hadn’t cared, but it did take a big chunk of time out of his already late schedule. He hurried along and searched for her, but didn’t’ seem to see her. Maybe she didn’t come after all? Maybe she got tired of waiting and left? Panic hit him and he began to look more frantic. A beautiful girl in a red kimono kept catching his eyes, and he felt a little awkward about it until…
Hey wait…
He spoke only to himself, but he’d be damned if his didn’t deceive him. Was that Leiko...in a KIMONO? Oh he knew he should have dressed up! Now she would be all fancy and he would be just a rugged shinobi. Oh well, he didn’t have time to go back and change now.
He strutted up to her, although he didn’t’ notice he was strutting like a rooster as he did so. His feet stopped in front of her and he gave her his normal warm smile as she looked up at him. It seemed to only get bigger as she almost let a sentimental word blurt from her lips. She gave him her usual death glare, but it was too late for that now!
"I didn’t actually think you’d come, Leiko-Chan… And all dressed up to!"
He leaned in closer to her, his eyes looking her up and down. She was always the most beautiful thing in the world to him, but this...this was pure torture on his eyes and brain! Leiko simply crossed her arms over her chest and spat out that her mother made her, and she didn’t sound any too pleased about it.
"Well the look does suit you, you being a princess and all."
With that he slide next to her and leaned against the wall she was supporting herself on. His eyes couldn’t leave her, she was simply stunning!
“Besides, you are still a girl, Leiko-chan, even if you are a kunoichi.”
His cheeks turned a soft pink as she became speechless, her own cheeks turning a pink shade that perfectly matched his. He’d never thought he could make her blush! In an attempt to pull himself back up, he gave her a playful wink, which only caused her to sputter and glare at him more. He suddenly felt as if nothing could wrong now. He could see Leiko thinking of a comeback, but her sigh announced that she was defeated, and he’d not have to prove her wrong. Ah. Score one for Haru!
You’re late.
Crap. She’d remembered that. He stood and waited for something to come to his brain, last thing he wanted was to upset her. He couldn’t have her stomping off on him.
"Not by much, and its not my fault Hiiro and Shuji-sensei were being slow… That reminds me, didn’t Hiiro want to ask Yaki-san here?" He questioned with a bit curiosity.
Leiko didn’t seem like she really wanted to talk about it, and her words that came from her mouth actually sounded like acid hitting water. It worried him just slightly. His smile was flipped and his concerned frown made his face ache. He tugged softly on a lock of hair before speaking, his concern clear in his tone.
"Did something happen, Leiko-chan?"
The way Leiko had sniffed, it was almost heartbreaking. He knew something had happened that had hurt her feelings, not to mention the snappish comeback to cover it all up. He wanted to dig a little deeper, but something told him if he tried she might just snap and turn it on him. Besides, he didn’t like to see her like this. He wanted her to be happy tonight. Taking her hand he pulled her from the wall and began to drag her off. She was going to switch out her attitude right now!
"Well, come on then! Lets have some fun!"
He felt a sense of pride well up into his chest as she laughed and smiled. He really wished she would do it more often then she did. Her laugh made the butterflies in his stomach flutter and his heart beat faster. Now he just had to find the right time to make his move.
-----------few hours later---------
Haru had dragged Leiko through the crowd and forced her into doing so many thing he thought it only fair to treat her. So he stopped and bought them some dango and escorted his princess to a bench where they could enjoy the sticky goodness in peace. Things had been quiet while they chewed, but Haru’s head was racing with scenarios and ideas, his brown eyes jumping from the crowd to the Sumiyaka who looked all to happy to be here now, making Haru feel a tad bit happier then he had been since arriving. Truth be told, he didn’t think it was possible to get any more pleasure out of this day. With a sigh of satisfaction he put the empty stick onto the plate and stretched out, his eyes now focused completely on the kunoichi.
"It’s to bad Hiiro won’t be here for another hour or so. Maybe when he does show we can go force Mikki-san from her hidey hole."
There it was, that smile! He knew that she’d been too busy having a good time with him to still be mad at her friend. It was unusual that Leiko would be hurt by Yaki; it was usually the other way around. He was still extremely curious as to what had happened, but didn’t think pushing the issue would help one bit at all. He watched as her lips moved as she spoke, they were still glistening from her licking the sugary substance off of her lips making them glow and causing him to hand on her words more then usual.
"That’d be nice, but I didn’t really mind it just being us."[/b]
The look of shock must have been apparent on his face as his brain registered exactly what she was trying to say. Did she just admit to liking being here with him? He wanted to jump up at that moment and take her in his arms and…oh! What was he kidding! He was still way to nervous to do that. He tugged softly on the fabric of her kimono sleeve, it was soft, just as he imagined her skin was under it. Wait… BAD HARU! Stop thinking such things! He gave a rather silly looking grin as he spoke the first thing that came to mind.
"Why’s that, Leiko-chan?"
What a stupid thing to say. But it was too late now, he’d already said it. Part of him wondered why he had even though to ask, he was pretty sure he already knew what she would want to say, but try to cleverly disguise into a phrase more Leiko-ish.
As he suspected, she had went off saying it was nice being the pretty girl, nice not being the Leiko everyone knew. She did seem so happy right now, it was really a flip of her personality and as much as it surprised him, it also gave him a sense of accomplishment. Had he managed to tame the Sumiyaka-hime? He had liked to think so.
"Then we’ll just have to do it more often!"
He chimed up after she had finished talking about how it was nice to not be a ninja for once. She smiled at him, a girlish giggle that certainly didn’t seem to belong with her singing to his ears. This was it, it was the perfect moment. It was time.
He gave her a soft smile, his eyes filled with a look that he had always given her, but she would see it now like she hadn’t before. His hand reached up around her neck and pulled her closer to him. He fought back a laugh as her cheeks turned a brilliant red. He too could feel heat rising into his cheeks as he pulled her close, his head tilting and moving in closer. Her could feel her breath on his face, and soon he would feel her lips against his…closer they came until…
BANG!
The pair had jumped and settled back in their positions away from each other. DAMNIT! And he was so close to tasting her lips too. All that planning was for nothing. He was a little angry, thinking it had been some kind of firework at first, but then his eyes widened as the ringing in his ears died down and the smoke from the Sumiyaka complex became thicker. This wasn’t good. Leiko apparently had the same idea as he did as her voice was filled with the tone of worry. Grasping her hand in his again, taking the time to interlock his fingers with her despite the emergency they hurried off down the street. As they hurried along, a passing shinobi reported that all ninja were needed at the complex before rushing off again. Leiko looked rather pissed, and in a attempt to help, he only stated the obvious.
"Don’t worry Leiko-chan, I’m sure he just didn’t recognize you."
She still didn’t look too happy, but instead set her attention to her long flowing kimono. He gave her a grin and handed her a kunai to destroy the pretty kimono she was suddenly very un-fond of.
"Here, I’ll go ahead and hold the fort until you get there, Leiko-chan. You can step back over there and ruin your pretty kimono and then catch up."
He hated to think of it destroyed, but this really wasn’t the time to be worried about an article of clothing. There was no telling what kind of trouble could be going on at the complex, and he knew that helping her family would mean more to her then any little date or kimono ever would. His spirits were lifted when she tugged him into a hug, her arms around his neck thanking him. Protect her family; yes, he would do that, if for no one else but her.
She turned to duck into an alleyway to do what she had to do, when his instinct just too over, he reached out and softly grabbed her wrist and pulled her back him, his eyes looking into hers. It was now or never.
“Will do, Sumiyaka-hime."
He said in an all too happy tone before pulling her closer and kissing her softly. Though it must not have lasted longer then a mere second, it felt like forever to him. In that tiny moment it was only he, with her. Taking all his will to break it, he leapt off and onto the rooftops before he stayed there embracing her, ignoring all that was going on and letting Hiiro and Shuji-sensei have all the fun.
His mind was what would seem all stars and sparkles until his eyes took in the full extent of what was going on. The complex was definitely under attack. Apparently he had been one of the first to arrive, as he could just make out a few joining in to fight at the complex’s doorways. He knew two of them would have been his team mate and sensei. Which two he couldn’t make out just yet, but he knew they were there.
By the time he reached them, most of the mercenaries had been killed off, but still something didn’t sit quite right with Haru as he struggled with one. It was too easy for them to be here at the gates. Too easy. He looked over at Hiiro, Who didn’t seem to have any expression or care one way or the other. It bothered him that he was so damn stoic like that. His attention was cut short when the mercenary used his slight distraction to give him a rather hard punch to the gut.
“DIDN’T YOUR MOTHER TEACH YOU MANNERS?!”
He screamed as he tore paper from the inside of his shirt. He was going to cut this guy up right now, and if he was still mad later burn him too! This was Leiko’s home! He had no right! Just as he was about to form the seals, Hiiro’s hand touched his. It was an odd moment, why was he stopping him. It didn’t take long for him to figure it out, he was taking over an with good reason.
“Inside.”[/b]
That was it! This was some puissant diversion! Haru nodded and raced off inside. If they were inside as well, then that meant they were looking for someone. But who? The heir was not inside, Leiko was gone. Anyone that knew them would know that Leiko was the rightful heir and that…
Damnit! Seiichi!
Haru Noticed as he went along just how big this had become. He was surrounded by the many Sumiyaka ninja defending their territory against the mercenaries. Like tigers on rabbits they were winning, but still it seemed all too easy. As if his worst fears materialized, hordes of mercenaries began to pour past him. Where were they all coming from? He knew what this had to be and he knew who they were after. He had to get to the Hime’s house and fast before it was too late. He knew Leiko would be here by now, and hopefully Usagiku wouldn’t be far behind her. Hiiro and Shuji would be inside fighting through by now…he was the only non-Sumiyaka that was this far in and they were all too busy fighting to help him. He was on his own if he ran into trouble.
”I must for you, my princess.”
He whispered as he slipped his wire from his pouch. Wrapping both hands with it, he pulled tightly to form a strong smooth line between his hands.
”For my hime!”
He screamed out, leaping at one of the on coming invaders. He seemingly jumped over their head, but the wire snagged securely across their neck, the thin, glinting twine slicing clean through to the other side. It took a few moments, before the body fell back and the head rolled off tripping up another of his kind. Haru really didn’t like killing, but this was an emergency, and he was only giving that beast the same luxury he would have gotten.
His rage was at an all time high already, when he could hear Leiko-chan’s father shouting. He stumbled through the door and collapsed breathing heavily. Still, the old man had a certain fire in his eyes that could be matched with Haru’s. The man he’d been fighting laughed slyly and assumed he’d won,. That was, until he felt a pat on he back. He’d been so busy that he hadn’t noticed Haru walkup behind him, until it had been too late.
”Go boom, asshole.”
Haru whispered in his ear. The mercenary’s eyes got big, and the last thing he saw was Haru dragging the elder Sumiyaka back into the house as the other hand made the sign for the exploding tag to go off. Haru gave a childish, but well deserved wink to him as the sounds of the first tag went off.
Normally, one exploding tag wouldn’t have done so much damage, but Haru had slapped on about a dozen of them. So when he gave the signal, the mans body had exploded, leaving behind only few tattered bits of body and his feet in the Suna sand. The chaos didn’t last long, as the hordes of one on one battle swept through, covering the exploded Shinobi as if he were never there.
Haru looked down at Leiko’s father. He’d never liked him, but he was sure Leiko wouldn’t want him to die either…maybe. He was about to ask how he was feeling, when Seii pointed down the hall. Haru left the old man there then, knowing that there was something more important to do then worry about the retired ninja’s life and raced into the labyrinth of hallways.
Seiichii…
It wasn’t until now that he noticed that the central unit was much more quiet then the outside had been. They were holding everyone outside. That was it! They were trying to keep anyone from entering! He carefully walked closer, his eyes taking in the massacre that had occurred inside the walls first. How had they gotten the upper hand on so many Sumiyaka? They were too fast for just anyone to beat, and those mercenaries may have been many, but they weren’t smart. He snapped his mind out of it. He had to find Seiichii, and if possible Leiko’s mother.
He could vaguely make out the sounds of voices in Seiichii’s room he got closer. At first was relieved, but as he stepped closer he could hear a faint snicker. A familiar laugh. He sucked in a breath and placed his hand on the door. The others would be here soon. He wouldn’t’ be alone for too long. He could hold them until then. He gave a harsh shove, and the door creaked open.
”YOU!”
The dark haired boy that stood in front of him smiled. His lips curled back and he looked like he was a predator of some sort.
”Yes, it is I.”[/b]
His words were cold and were slightly overshadowed by the tiny whimpers that cam from something in his hand. Haru’s eyes narrowed and seemed to spit acid at the familiar male as he realized he was holding the bruised and obviously tortured Seiichi by the locks of his hair.
”I’ll kill you. I’ll KILL YOU!”
Haru felt his rage explode inside of him as Seiichi was handed off to another. The evil eyed male in front of him popping his joints as if this was going to be easy. Haru’s patience couldn’t hold any more, and he leapt at the boy. He had wanted at the smarmy ass for so long anyway, he didn’t need this to make him go off. His papers flew around and he could feel himself signing away. What happened next he could never have guessed.
”You will have to hit harder then with your paper, you weakling. I’ll show you real power!.”[/i]
He hadn’t expected something to be behind him. But he felt the first bite and his flesh tear away. It broke his concentration completely. He fell to his knees. The pain was too much for him to handle. Not only had flesh been severed, but it felt like acid had been poured on it. He tried but could not keep himself from crying out in pain. Over and over he was hit, until it just stopped. He felt his body shiver and his heart beat into his throat. This is what had caused the first chuunin exam to go badly. He was always acting without thinking. Still, the bigger question was how someone his age from Sunagakure had gained such a jutsu. How could he have gone undetected under their noses like that for long?
”I’ll kill you now. Let you be an example to them all. I am the one that wields the power in this desolate village. I am the one that you will all bow to!”[/b]
He could see the outline of the man as he lifted his circular weapon over his head. So was this how it was to end? Was he to die by the hands of someone like him? Was he never to see his princess again? Never to make her smile? He could feel himself crying. I have failed you my princess. He thought bitterly as he closed his eyes and waited for death to come. He couldn’t fight like this. Not when he could not lift a finger. His body was broken.
”Leave him you fool! He is to be left alive until the Umeko heir is certain!”[/u] ”He’s a worthless sack! He was adopted! He is not what we will seek![/u]
Haru’s ear detected the tension, the other voice had been cold, high pitched, and seemingly above the other. He fluttered in and out of consciousness, as he fought not sure of what his fate would be. It wasn’t until he felt the pain of his body sliding that he dared to crack his lids open.
”You are lucky. You will live, for now.”[/i]
The tone was cold, and it was the last thing Haru would hear before the explosion caused his ears to pop, and the blast of debris that hit him made his body go limp.
”I am sorry… Leiko-chan. I could not be your knight.”
His words did not even vocalize themselves, as much as he tried. With one final cough he let his body sink into a void of darkness.
--------Sometime later [unknown amount of days]----------
Haru’s body ached and let out a low groan as he tried to move. Everything felt like he had been hit by a rhino running at full speed.
“ Leiko-chan…”
His words were ragged and hoarse. Before he knew anything, cool liquid had been poured down his dry throat. It was welcome, and he gurgled in the pleasure of its coolness.
”Do not speak. You will listen. Everyone thinks you are dead. We will not change this. If you want to save Sumiyaka Leiko you will do as we say. She is in danger, and only we can save her.”
Haru felt his chest clutch. They thought he was dead? His eyes cracked open and he looked up into the face of an unknown woman. She was not a nurse, and this…this was not a hospital. It was clear it had not been the woman who spoke. His eyes rolled over to the side, and there, in the shadows…no, it couldn’t have been him! But yet it was. Haru glared at him. With a new found strength of his hatred he sat up, his body pounding in pain again.
”You act before you think. So in your weakened state I should think it would be better for you to shut up, lay down and listen. I have a proposal for you, Umeko boy…”[/i] [/font][/size][/color]
