Name:Taikouneko, Musei
Alias: Mu or Tai
Rank: Jounin
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Village: Konohagakure
Clan: Taikouneko Clan
Appearance:
Her family clan is known for their catlike styles and appearance and Musei is no different. Sharp eyes and tiny fangs for teeth along with facial stripes and rather sharp nails are the only noticeable things, though.
The most noticeable thing on Musei, herself, would be her hair. It is a deep pink that seems to pop into the eye no matter where she is. Its rather full, so she keeps it cut short; making sure to clasp the longer strands back to avoid them getting in her face, although the green clip actually does little more then give her hair decoration. Despite being super short, her hair is full enough to still cover her ears. Her eyebrows are thin, and the same shade of pink, as are stripes on her face. The stripes, thought to be paint, are actually her skin tone. They continue across her cheeks and under her ears. Joining together at the back of her neck, they form one long stripe of pink that continues down her back to her tailbone. All the pink seems to outline her eyes, which are a deep green that catch the eye because of the drastic color difference; because her skin is also a dark hue it makes her eyes stand out all the more. Her pupils are naught but slits and it is hard to tell if they even dilate correctly or not. But be assured they work just fine as like her cat-cousins, she is able to see in the brightest and darkest of lights.
She wears almost all green to further enhance her eyes. Her top is a soft green color, with the lettering "make me purr" written across the bust. It’s a short top, and exposes a little belly, but nmot much, as her wrappings pick up where the shirt leaves off.. Her skirt looks rather short and risqué; but body wrappings under her clothing cover her well enough that it doesn’t make a difference. On her arms she bares arm cuffs, though these are used for decoration only. Around her neck she has tied a very long ribbon, which ends in bells at either end. They make tiny chimes when she walks and whistling sounds when she runs, but for the most part the bells don’t hinder her fighting ability, as by the time the bells sound is hear, her body is moved from that area. Her hair color is a bigger problem then the bells. Around her waist she has latched a leather belt in which she hangs all of her pouches and bags. Because she has no pockets, this is the way she chooses to carry her items. Her headband is also looped onto this belt, as she finds that it does not look good on her body anywhere else. On her left leg is strapped another leather belt, which houses her primary weapon. Though she does not use it often, she likes to keep it within reaching distance. On her right arm she bares a brace of the same leather to better help her block oncoming blows.
Special body armor: None, unless you count the arm brace.
Personality:
Musei can be quite the gabber, and can talk up a storm once she’s started. She’s not afraid to speak her mind, and can often get into fights over disagreements in which she will not let go. She’s hot headed and will stop at nothing to prove her point usually; minus the rare occasions she finds it not worth her time. She does not accept being wrong very well so if she’s ever proven so will go silent for days at a time all the while glaring at whomever made her look stupid. She is normally silent for the most part, only speaking when something sparks her interest, which [unlucky for others] can be quite a few things. She’s the exact opposite outside of her home, however. She is almost completely silent, and only really makes cat-like sounds to approve or disapprove. Rarely does she speak on a mission or while traveling; most communication is done through staring at others and giving small nods and shakes of the head.
Jutsu Techniques: (we’ve broken these up. If you’re not sure which category they go under, than just post them at the bottom you will not be penalized for this, but we may correct it for you. If these are lesser known jutsu techniques then we ask you go into detail)
Genjutsu:
Kasai Ryouko- Fire of Two tigers
Miyabita kakou—Graceful fall
Ninjutsu:
Neko, neko ---- cat, cat
Taijutsu:
yamayake no jutsu ---Brushfire technique
Doujutsu:
None
Hijutsu:
None
Kinjutsu:
None
Weapons:
Shuriken- Musei has tons of these packed into her pouches and bags. They are usually wasted, as she likes to throw them to see if she’s fast enough to catch them. She likes to chase the “shiny” objects as well.
Kunai- she carries a standard amount of these. Who knows when you might need a little extra help.
Exploding Tags- Like the Shuriken, she carries plenty of these. Apparently things are better when they go boom.
Main fighting style: She’s not really got much of a style; she tends to enjoy hand to hand, but at the same time likes distance fighting. It depends on her mood. Uses mostly fire jutsu
Fighting strength: Her cat-like speed and agility. She’s got excellent balance and is rather fast. Not to mention like her cat counter, she has eyes capable of seeing in pitch-blackness.
Fighting weakness: The most noticeable weakness she has is her fondness for food. Even though she is rather thin, her favorite foods can make her mind wonder, even in the most furious of battles. Her second weakness is her dismal dislike for water. Where she deals with it, she would much rather live without and if soaked too deeply, she can shut completely down.
Team members: N/A [her team has long been disbanded]
Friends/family:
Taikouneko, Misiti: Mother. They’re very close, and Musei usually finds herself finding comfort in talkignto her mother. While Misiti is not a ninja, as a member of the Taikouneko clan she still has the catlike looks and abilities. She resembles Musei minus her hair being extremely long and a faded shade of purple.
Taikouneko, Ikkatsu - Musei’s father. They’ve never actually been close, but she knows she can rely on him if need be. He was a busy shinobi when she was growing up, so they never had time to connect. She still loves him dearly, and would put her life down for him.
Taikouneko, Usei Musei’s older sister, thought to be dead. They were very close, and Musei went into seclusion for awhile after the news came through. Her father does not believe she is dead, as the body was never shown or found.
Other companions:
Tenmei: An extremely large dark orange cat. Mush larger then a normal tiger, Tenmei is one of the few large cats that selected a Taikouneko for her partner [or rather was given]. She was thought to be a tiger, but only developed a solid black stripe from her nose to tail tips along her back; not to mention the fact that she can purr which is something tigers cannot do. Musei cares not what her partner is, and gives the large beast free reign to do what she pleases. Thought usually, the big cat can be found next to Musei’s side, hissing and growling at any passing Inuzuka dogs and pups.
Character history:
Like most births of the Taikouneko clan, Musei was born in a secluded room with naught but her mother around. It was not a hard birth, and Musei was welcomed by the large clan as the new kitten in their group. She grew up not only relying not only on her mother, father and older sister; but the rest of the clan as well. They were a tight nit group and everyone helped everyone else. People around Konoha jokingly referred to them as the “happy pride” due to their take on upbringing. Where your mother gave birth to you, she was not the only one to scold you. It was common for all elder females to be “mother” to all the youngsters. It worked well; even if Musei was born with a mouth that could get her into trouble.
When Musei was but six, she was dropped off into the dense wooded area in konohagakure known as the forest of death. It was tradition that young Taikouneko members be left here in order to find their feline life partner. Musei, like many before her was afraid to be here, as it was likely that more then just a cat would find you. Being as afraid as she was, she opted to find a hole blasted into a tree some time ago and curl up inside of it, hiding away. This was a mistake, however as a giant insect of some sort lived here, and before she had a chance to run was grasped up into it clutches. It hurt, and she believed she was going to die there, as the stinging pain for the insect’s mandibles pierced the sides of her flesh. This was not the case, as a giant tiger-like feline began to attack the bug. Musei had been dropped, and was knocked completely out upon hitting the ground. She awoke what seemed to be hours later, still bleeding, cold, weak and confused. The massive cat lay by her dying as well; its sire had been torn open but it had been victorious as the insect’s mangled body lay next to the cat. The tiger-cat eyed musei for a moment, before using the last of her strength to stand and walk to her, placing a tiny cub in Musei’s hands before dying with a slight satisfied growl. It was another few hours before Musei was found, but she and the cub survived, and that is how Musei came to find her life partner; the giant cat known as Tenmei.
Musei grew up fast, and took after her father and older sister. Usei was kind to Musei; teaching her everything she had to offer as she was there more often then their father. Musei began to cling to her sister, and they were hardly seen apart from each other for a number of years. Even as Musei rose into chuunin rank, she still attached herself to her older jounin sister as if she needed her. They were only two years apart and as a fast learner there was hardly anything that Usei could do, that Musei could not.
When Musei was seventeen, the unthinkable happened. Usei was called to help protect the civilians around one of the giant battles against Orochimaru and was killed in the battle that ensued. Musei was devastated and locked herself away; only to emerge when there was a mission she could not turn down. She was heartbroken and for many years after that pushed people away. The loneliness got to her, though, so she soon placed on her happy mask and made friends. As time grew longer, she realized her happy face was true, and did not think of her sister’s death with sadness anymore, but with pride and a spark of revengeful anger. Her father still to this day does not believe that Usei died; but rather her heart was tainted and she joined the enemy instead. Musei refuses to believe this, but does not call her father on it as it is his own way of coping with the loss.
Because she secluded herself for so long after Usei’s death, it wasn’t until she was twenty-three that she took, and passed the test into jounin level. She still holds this rank now, and on rare occasions does she do any work that could involve her life being on the line. She’s been offered a team a few times since ascending, but she declines, as she does not think she is ready for such a task. She has pondered trying to teach at the academy to see if she likes it; but usually decides not as she does not like children so much. Her hot temper with them can be a bit scary, not to mention unprofessional.
She’s quite single, and tends to like it that way. She’s yet to find anyone that strikes her fancy, and normally pushes men that attempt to suit her away. With her it is hard to tell if she really prefers to be alone or is just playing hard to get. Her parents pressure her to find a “mate” and continue on with the Taikouneko line, but she is in no big hurry for such things. Besides, the clan is big enough to survived without her throwing herself at available men, right?
Role play Sample:
The morning’s light pierced her eyes. It wasn’t that she hated these hours; but after a long night awake, the sun seemed less appealing. Her brows furrowed down and she squinted looking off into the wood line. Perched atop the thick gate in a couched position that surrounded her village seemed to be the perfect spot for her. She’d been balancing here for hours, and although her feet were a little sore from such an extended period, she wasn’t bothered much. Soft snores echoed from under her, where Tenmei lay. The giant cat was inhaling deeply and upon he exhale was making a rather loud racket. If she didn’t’ know any better, she’d think the cat was in a life threatening battle. Granted the loud noise gave away her position, but she could not deny her partner the rest she desperately needed. Tenmei had been awake for over 30 hours, and the sleep was well earned. Musei yawned softly and slowly pushed herself into a standing position. It was a wobbly transition, but she made it without much of a threat of falling. A soft murr escaped her lips as her replacement came into view. Soon she’d be at home curled in her bed asleep. Oh, it was such a lovely ide…
Her thoughts topped short and her lip curled into a slight growl. How dare they! One of those dirty dogs was going to replace her? That meant she’d have to actually be close enough to SMELL them! The thoguth was outrageous. The Hokage knew how much they hated each other, how could such a thing be allowed? With a sharp inhale she began to hold her breath as she jumped down. The thud she created upon landing woke Tenmei, who lazily pushed herself up and trailed along behind the Taikounekeo, ultimately dwarfing the tiny kitten woman. She exhaled and felt her temper already flare, but tried to her best to hold it down as both Tenmei and the unknown Inuzuka mutt began to exchange growls. She didn’t take long to check him over, and turn the post over. She was a bit ashamed for not being more through, but she could not stand to be near him any long. Sometime had welled up inside of her, and she was nearly ready to attack him. She assumed it was hate, as he always felt this way around them. She detested feeling like she was their prey all the time. SHE WAS NO ONE’S MOUSE! With a soft snort she reached back and stroked Tenmei’s nose, which was welcomed with a loud rumbling purr. They’d be home soon. And she’d sleep the whole bad encounter off.
