Clan Name: The Akiyama Clan
Clan Markings: None
Clan traits: Almost all Akiyama are taken to have a few certain traits. The main of which is a hair the color of a fine red rose; That is, Crimson red. The most common eye color for them is brown, though they have been known to have other colors: All within the normal spectrum of the human eye. The, perhaps, strangest trait of the Akiyama is the fact that their skin has a faint green tinge to it no matter how light or dark. This, would be due to the fact that their blood is actually green in color. How this evolved is under much speculation, but most people simply assume its from the close relationship the clan shares with plants. Akiyama also tend to have an innate disgust for a place that lacks plant life, though they can certainly live in such areas they don’t much like it.
Clan Village: Differs, the clan is a wide spread one made up mostly of merchants. There fore it is rare that one branch or another settles in any one village. They are not a clan particularly taken with the shinobi life style.
Clan abilities: All Akiyama can ‘hear’ plants though the degree of this differs between each one. The ability is usually no more than ‘feeling’ what a plants emotions are at any moment, and can be so weak that the user must be in contact with the plant. On the other side of the coin some posses it strongly enough to actually hear ‘words’ from the plants they are near: It is extremely rare for this to occur though one or two appear in just about every generation. When it comes to dead plants they can still pick up on a few lingering ‘thoughts’ but not actually communicate. It is a relationship akin to that of animal based clans and their pets.
Secondly during the daylight hours Akiyama can heal at a much faster rate, as well as recover chakra better. They rarely need much sleep, and only require a about 4 hours every three to four days unless their chakra is severely depleted or, they suffer severe injury.
Clan Weaknesses: Akiyama tend to get weaker at night without the sun, and really don’t much care for activity involving the dark: This makes them avoid roles as shinobi most of the time. While they can, and will do things at night they tend to have a rather sluggish return on their chakra without the suns light.
Fire is another thing they can’t stand. It makes their style of battle rather ineffective due to the use of plants.
Similarly a place without plants tends to make Akiyama sullen or irritable, they can’t stand no hearing their more earthy counterparts.
Clan enemies: Kusagakure.
Simple as that, the whole of the Akiyama’s hate that village with a surprising passion. Why? It is quite simple. Several years gone the Akiyama’s main Shinobi producing line lived there. They were famous for their arts involving the use of plants, as well as their herblore. The Akiyama have always been some of the best herbalists. Another of the villages clans grew jealous at one point and a blood feud bloomed between the two. Eventually the Kage interfered and through some greasing of palms by the other clan (The Akiyama were much to noble for such an act) the clan was expelled from Kusagakure, and the branches scattered to the four winds. They still hold their grudge, though.
Clan Jutsu: Name: Ikusen Ni-doru Shishou no Jutsu {Thousand Needle Stabbing Technique} Clan/User?: Akiyama Clan Type: Ninjutsu Chakra Consumption: Small to Medium. Description: The user attaches a dab of their chakra to the needle or thorn of a plant, in example a cactus needle. Using the signal put off by the attached chakra the user then controls the needle(s) to send them flying at the target, to impale or to slash. Until such time as the user releases their chakra hold, is knocked unconcious, or the needle is firmly lodged in a target the needle is under the users control. Other Effects: While this technique is great for combat at a distance it is a disadvantage when in close range as the controller of the needles must be able to concentrate to control them. The more needles used the more chakra is needed to connect and control them, given it doesn’t take much chakra to control a plant thorn. Depending on the thorn used, or if it has been prepared prior they can serve as a tool for poisoning the foe as well.
Name: Kamisori Hanabira Dansu no Jutsu {Razor Petal Dance Technique} Clan/User?: Akiyama Clan Type: Ninjutsu Chakra Consumption: Small to Medium. Description: Much like the Ikusen Ni-Doru Shishou the user attaches their chakra to flower petals and sends them at the target, however unlike the needle technique this one serves only to slash, and cut. It can also prove extremely effective in distracting people. Having the petal’s whirl around the target like a miniature storm continually cutting at them, can prove relatively annoying and painful after all. Other Effects: Again, this is a technique that requires a high amount of chakra control, and concentration. It is not for those who get down on the front lines, but rather a distance technique.
Name: Hanabira Bunshin no Jutsu {Petal Clone Technique} Clan/User?: Akiyama Clan Type: Ninjutsu Chakra Consumption: Medium Description: Using flower petals to mass replicate rather than the trying task of creating a clone from thin air. This technique uses scattered flower petals, perhaps previously used for Kamisori Hanabira Dansu, to create a vast amount of replicas with minimal chakra consumption. Though it does consume a decent amount, it is less than the amount a normal bunshin technique would take. Other Effects: None, its simply the same thing as Bunshin no Jutsu, just using flower petals.
Name: Shokubutsu Seiiku no Jutsu {Plant Growth Technique} Clan/User?: Akiyama Clan Type: Ninjutsu Chakra Consumption: Small to Large Description: The user feeds chakra to a seed or plant to increase its rate and health of growth. The more chakra fed to the plant the faster it grows. This can also cause plants to grow much larger than they normally would. This technique is not always used for battle, but can be used as such. Other Effects: None
Name: Surudoi Shokubutsu no Jutsu {Sharp/Pointed Plant Technique} Clan/User?: Akiyama Clan Type: Ninjutsu Chakra Consumption: Small Description: Using a small dab of chakra the edges of a plants leaves are forced to become stiff and sharp making them into weapons as lethal as any kunai. Other Effects: None
